    Am on Disability Allowance and Living Alone, so I get €194 a week. Had to renew Medical Card last week and according to this citizensinformation site the income limit is €184.

    I sent the application in anyway, as now you apparently give them permission to check your Social Welfare receipts.

    Anybody able to clear this up :confused: .................. people on basic Social Welfare above limit for GSM card :eek:

    🧐IMHO, God wants us all to ENJOY many,many ice-creams , 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦

    Income not taken into account:

    Social welfare payments: Family Income Supplement, Child Benefit, Carer's Allowance, Domiciliary Care Allowance, Guardian's Payments; weekly supplements (such as a diet or heating supplement) paid under the Supplementary Welfare Allowance scheme; Fuel, Island, Living Alone and Over 80 Allowances

    Not sure why it's €184 instead of €188 since €188 is the standard welfare payment, but if it's any consolation, I'm on the same payments and my review just came up and it was approved.

    According to the HSE's guidelines, if your income is derived solely from social welfare allowances or benefits or HSE allowances, you should be granted a medical card even though your payment may be in excess of the income guidelines for your age and situation.

    @Balagan , Thanks ,

    found it now on the site. Can sleep easy now tonight . Should get the card anyway, just for worrying so much, and for constantly jumping to negative conclusions.
