I do about 15k km a year give or take. Dont need a diesel and dont want a diesel.

Practically 99% of cars for sale are diesel in ROI but seems to be a few more petrols up North. Would even go to UK if i had to. So really struggling to see where i'd get a 2 or 3 yr old petrol saloon.
However I stumbled across the above. Would this be a good option and has anyone driven one?

Tbh i've no bloody idea how these hybrids work.. but it certainly could be the answer to my problem.

    Any thoughts? Thanks.

There are the Lexus CT and NX hybrids that might suit you too.

The 300h would be nice and powerful anyway,

I thought the performance figures for the IS300H were not great given the engine size and bhp it has?

Reviews online seem fairly decent on mpg. From the few I seen on Google!

I was more talking about pace and top speed. It has 224bhp but 0 to 62 in 8.4 seconds and top speed of only 124 mph. I know top speed is not everything but I would expect a bit more grunt from a 2.5 litre petrol engine. I guess it's sedated to complement the hybrid drive train.

No reason to go over 120km. Ever!

    :-P

    In fairness that's not great.

Are all the 300h models a 4 cylinder 2.5 now? I see they're still 2.5 litres and presumed they were 6 cylinders, but I now see they have 4. Interesting that the capacity didn't decrease. Performance is relatively modest but at least you won't have a ridiculous tax bill.

tbh, register on lexus owners club uk, not many here have a Lexus it seems and no one got a 300h either by the looks of things.

I seen a few in hampshire and it's certainly a looker, its no M3 which we already know. It has a hybrid drive train which goes a long way to explain the rather sedate top speed as bazz pointed out, but who needs to go any faster.? Being a Lexus you can expect pretty solid residual values and very good build quality.

Best to peep over to the UK site where you can get some authentic feedback from owners.

Some people have criticised the CVT transmission but the best way to judge it is to drive it

    yeah 4 cylinder ~180hp 4 cyl plus electric ~25hp) = 205hp

My one has ~204hp but its a v6.
