    Hi All,

I bought a new build house a few months ago and the entire interior is currently magnolia. I'd like to start putting my own stamp on it but I am totally overwhelmed with the choice!! I looked at Farrow & Ball but I think it might be too expensive. Does anyone have anything to say about the Dulux Signature or Colortrend Historic ranges in terms of price or quality? The downstairs is all open plan so I am finding it difficult to decide. I like a natural palette maybe greens but I don't know how dark/light to go. Would people recommend getting a professional opinion before choosing? I haven't bought any of the accessories eg rugs/light fittings/cushions. curtains as I am waiting to decide on colours bt if anything I am getting more indecisive!!

    Cheers,
    Kaz

I used the Dulux Signature on my pine ceilings and exposed beams and was extremely pleased with the results. The painter seemed to like the quality as well.

Colour trend is very good quality from experience. I've used it in the past and was very happy.

Johnstones Durable matt is a very good paint and can be mixed into most colours in a johnstone decorating centre.

Firstly- I loved the farrow and ball colours, but couldn't love the price- my local johnstones paint shop mixed them up, and the colours (I got two different ones) where the very same as tester pots id bought in The f&b range.
Or- do you happen to live anywhere in the region of pat McDonnell paints? A former colleague of mine built a new house, and was also overwhelmed by paint colours- someone from there (it was the cork branch), came to her house and advised re colours. She was delighted with the service!

Thanks jlm I've made a colour consultation appt with pat mcd paints! Great idea. I'm thinking of greens like schoolhouse green in the colourtrend heritage range or dulux signature mid peridot as a feature wall with a paler version on the other walls. It's a large open plan space though so it will be good to get advice :)
