hello,my window fitter cracked the inside pane of glass on a newly fitted treble glazed window, just wanted to know how should he fix this?

he said he'l replace the pane of glass!

question is wouldnt he need to replace the whole window section because the argon gas is a factory job only,

    cheers guys

Sounds like some miscommunication. Yes the whole glass section should be replaced, but not the whole window frame

cheers, yeh i didnt mean the whole window frame,i was worried he was going to try replace just the one cracked pane of glass of the treble glazed unit,i actually rang the glass company this morning and it turns out you can only buy the whole treble glazed glass unit anyway.

anyway after all that they decided to make a balls of the plastering job out side

    shobby workmanship ted :(

Take a look when he is replacing the unit, it might only be possible to buy a new unit from the supplier, but it's perfectly possible to replace the single broken pane if someone wanted to. It would involve removing the glass unit, cutting the current sealant and replacing the broken pane, would take quite a long time. If the fitter wants to remove the broken unit and come back with the new one the next day I would be concerned on what he is doing.
