Pigeons at night?

    Have a feral pigeon problem and was wondering if it's legal to shoot them with the use of a lamp?

    thats how i do it here in manchester. lamp and a silencer on air rifle. they are vermin so cant see a problem once its your land

    Although I'm an advocate of the yearly derogation, I would still point out that birds are not classified as vermin and the derogation only allows the control as per it's details.
    If the feral pigeons are a pest as you say and require control by means other than that laid down in the derogation I would suggest the application for a section from the department detailing how you intend to control the problem. Sections are not exclusive for deer. England has different legislation and regulations in respect to vermin control etc

    As far as I've been told it's illegal to lamp pigeons in England. It's allowed in Scotland though.
