    Hi All

While i have raced on the road for the last 10 years and this year i started doing a little mountain biking. Im not too sure if im too late to get a race in or like to road season is done for now. Im riding A2 on the road but not sure how that would work with MTB racing.

As a confidence level on the road would be good but on MTB i would give myself a 5/10.

Im based in Cork and would be looking for something in Munster.

Sorry to sound like a newbie.

Connacht do a autumn xc league which kicks off again in October, with MTB championships in Sept in Sligo, probably a bit too far for you, but can't find anything running over the winter in Munster.

    See:
    Connacht MTB League

The Irish NPS is over for this year but this is worth looking at to see how most races are categorised, maybe sign up for next year, this is probably the best for information on the sport itself.

    Irish NPS

The muster league page is below, they might be able to tell you when it starts up, or if they're doing a autumn/winter league

    Munster MTB

All of this is xc - Cross Country, which is the most accessible discipline of MTB, and one most of the roadies go for, as there is less of a technical type of course, although it can still be tricky.

If you're just looking for an event to do I would suggest this

    Nire Valley Drop

Not too technical at all but plenty of climbing and descending, helpful to see how you stack up against other, did it last year and found it enjoyable, and it's pretty close to you I'd imagine.

Other than that, contact some of your local clubs, they might have a MTB side that can offer advice and competition, hope this helps.
