    Hi there,
    I have a Mercedes sprinter 415 CDI 906 2006
The coolant is leaking from the safety valve on the expansion bottle due to hi pressure and also have no heat in cabin .
The engine is not overheating also the temp warning light is not on
Any idea what could it be???
    Please help

It sounds like the cooling system is being pressurised by nasties that should not be pressurising it. Does it stay under pressure after being parked overnight? What colour is the coolant?

Yes it stays pressurised and the coolant colour is clear red and has no signs of any oil in it I am starting to think it's a head gasket but then again the temp warning light doesn't go on

Droped it to mechanic nearby who told me
That it looks like the head gasket is gone
And he put a sulotion called steel seal trying to seal the head gasket but it didn't work in fact It got much worse now I can see the coolant + steel seal pouring out of the water pump
I am going to replace the water pump and flush the coolant entirely and have the coolant system pressure tested next week
Is that a good idea ???
    Any suggestions???
    Please help

If the head gasket is gone then no amount of sealant will work if its bad.
If the water pump is gone then it will need replacing at the same time as the head gasket. Pressure testing the coolant system can force coolant into the cylinders which could lead to hydraulic lock, a sniff test may be a better bet than pressure testing.

The idea of doing the pressure test is to determine weather the head gasket is gone or not because so far I don't know for sure after the mechanic put the steel seal the water pump is being leaking like crazy therefore I was thinking replacing the water pump first then flush the coolant entirely might be a good idea
At least it'll indicate weather the head gasket should be stripped down or not
Or it might even be the thermostat I don't really know any suggestions ?

I am not convinced it's the head for a few reasons.
There's no contamination whatsoever nether in the coolant nor the oil also there's no white smoke coming from the tail pipe or any other visual symptoms other than the pressure in the expansion bottle which causes the coolant to boil over and decreases from the valve on the expansion bottle itself.
    I am lost please help!!!

I had a situation (as many on here know) with my celica.

The coolant system was being pressurised and forcing coolant out of the expansion tank. No oil in the coolant or vice versa.

Turns out it was the head gasket. The main leak was from the water jacket to the outside of the block so it wasn't showing up as an oil/ coolant mix anywhere and the exhaust wasn't noticably steamy even though there must have been a compromise with one cylinder for the system to be pressurising.

Did you strip down the head???
