Hi, I have received an interview for the college of commerce for end of August so if I'm accepted I should start mid sept. Just wondering would I be entitled to anything. I think I'm after missing the deadline for a grant but I wouldn't have made it anyway because the interview is the end of the month. I am currently on loan parents and rent allowance so I know I need to change to back to education but am I entitled to anything towards the cost of books? Thank you

I think BTEA covers the PLC contribution fee

You dont get anything from BTEA to cover book costs

Its possible if you live in area that is covered by an area based partnership that you could apply for some sort of educational subsidy. I dont know if they all do them though. Maybe ring Cork City Partnership and ask (I presume you meant Cork College of Commerce btw)

There may also be possibly a childcare subsidy from the college

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
