SPD-SL Issues

I changed from spd to spd-sl cleats & pedals which also resulted in a change of shoes. However I've had problems with ankling and general discomfort. I've had the clears refit but I'm still not happy with them.

Would a change of shoes but worth a try using the spd-sl? I'm tempted to just switch back to spds since I had no issue there.

My newest pair of SPD-SL shoes seemed impossible to get right. In the end I discovered my feet were in the wrong place inside the shoe...adjusting the straps was all it took.

Just a suggestion - some SPD SL shoes also have holes for SPD cleats. If yours do you could temporarily fit the SPD cleats to the SPD SL shoes and put the SPD pedals back on the bike. It might show if the problem is with the shoes rather than the SPD SL system.

The shoes have both mounting options so I might give that a try.

I switch back and it seems to be the shoes alright. I feel like there is no support under my heel and I can feel the cleat through the sole. Does anyone having recommendations for something with better support, I was looking at the specialized range.

I use superfeet carbon insoles and find the amassing for support and they have a money back guarantee
