Has anybody sent their CV off to this lot in Blackrock and got a response back? I sent a number of CV's off a few years ago and one about 2 months ago. All with no response back, even a acknowledgement. I know they are probably get a lot of CV's but it is still bad form.

I recently had dealings with them, they did get back to me (via telephone) the girl I spoke to was fairly rude.

Like most recruitment agencies they are very vague at first about the role at hand. Most of the time I think they are just filling there databases with applicants and then fishing for information i.e the girl I spoke to was very interested in the interviews I had done and where I was at with them (first interview, job offer, etc). I can only assume so she could send applicants to the company and get her commission.

I find most recruitment agencies are like leeches (harsh, but it is my opinion).

Your best off trying to go direct to companies where possible.

I hear you. I was in a well known agency in central Dublin last week and they could not even give me the correct details of the job itself and the location!!! It serves them no good but just wastes time for you and them

Do you have your CV in order? If you haven't already, you could join LinkedIn to get in touch with Recruiters and Industry Professionals. It has served me well so far and I've even been approached this weekend regarding a job in Ballyshannon.

I wouldn't rely on recruitment companies entirely, instead, going out and speaking to people within a company.

Good point! I should do looking more at LinkedIn and improving my profile. I would not depend on unreliable recruiters in the first place!!
