    Hello boardsies!

My fiancée and I are planning our wedding and we need your help! We're hoping to get married next year, sometime in April/May and we're looking for Dublin City centre +/- 5 miles from the city centre.

Our numbers are 80-100, and we'd like an alternative venue =< €50 per person - are we mad or is this achievable?

We're also not traditionalist, open to non-sit down options.

We have considered the following and for different reasons we've crossed them off for various reasons
    - Odessa
    - Fallon & Byrne
    - Le'Gueleton
    - Priory Hall

    Thanking you in advance!

Anglers rest is fab, not sure if its in your budget though.
The Morrison might be an option.
The Gibson at point village is another.

This might be of some interest to you OP, read it last week

    Thank you everyone so far..

We have wrote off Guinness Storehouse due to costs (after seeing their pricing structure for each room).

Gibson Hotel - we visited and initial thought it was nice but, thought against it due to the buffet food layout and value for our money.

Morrison Hotel - is not available for our dates.

Anglers Rest - looks nice, We might need to visit this place to see it.

    Any more... :)

It's not city centre but beaufield mews in stillorgan might suit you? I viewed it and didn't really like it but it's hugely popular so definitely worth a look!

10 Ormond Quay, the Royal College of surgeons, Rotunda Pillar room, Christchurch Vaults, there's a place off Parnell st called the Chocolate factory, it looks very alternative. Also, I was recently at a wedding in the Workmans Club.

We're having ours in the Hibernian Club on Stephens Green. Worth checking out.

Lot of lovely venues, but are they all sub €50 a head?

I have sent you a DM about Anglers.

Negotiation, midweek, if you don't ask ye won't get and all that. The OP had already ruled out a few cheaper options.

I'm having my wedding in the gibson 4 course meal at 50 a head. They have been a pleasure to deal with

A lot of the places mentioned above will be more than €50 a head if you are looking for a weekend wedding. Some of them also won't fit 80-100 people.

Other places that I've heard hosting weddings (although I have never been to one myself in Dublin city centre) are McGrattan's (they have a big function room), Dublin Food Co-op (a very blank canvas!), the Law Society and the Odeon. Now this was a few years ago so I've no idea if they still suit that sort of function. Maple's Hotel in Glasnevin (Iona Road) is one I came across in my search also. The boat on the Liffey MV, Cill Airne, and the one on the Royal Canal, La Peniche, but I'm not totally sure about your numbers. Sorry I can't be of more help. Keep asking people!

Best of luck with your search and do report back if you find a good place. I tried the Dublin city centre thing in my search for a wedding venue, but I couldn't find anywhere I was happy with for my 120 guests. I found the city centre best for small weddings around 30 people.

The other option would be to have your ceremony somewhere central and reception further out. There are some really great places for a ceremony in the centre of Dublin.

We chose Hibernian Club too... were going to go with Odessa but it's in examinership so they couldn't guarantee it for next year
