Hi. I joined there this year. I never heard that thing about a "cult"!! .. Don't know what that's meant to mean. Anyway, it's a great club in my opinion. I have been member of three other clubs previously and Wicklow for me has the best club atmosphere and friendliness of the few I was a member in before. I've played with a good few other members there now this year and I have yet to meet a person who wasn't sound. When time sheets go live the early slots seem to fill quiet quickly but you can put yourself on a reserve list on the brs system and if a slot comes up then it will automatically add you. I've done that a few times and it's great. But the full time sheet never completely fills as far as I can tell. The course itself is cracking, it's in great condition, the birds and rabbits have got at a few fairways but other than that it's perfect, greens are top class,,, very fast!!! The clubhouse is savage, the view from the "tower" is epic, and there's nothing better than finishing a round and going up there for a coffee/pint/food. And the good is delish, and the Guinness is top class. What more could you ask for? Best decision I've made in a while was join there anyway. But look around and see what you think. It's a buyers market so to speak, power is in your hands when joining somewhere, get the best deal you can. Best of luck wth the decision.
If you ever wanna play a round down there gimme a shout.

I think Wicklow is a great course and I understand that it has indeed got a great sense of 'club'
However, I have heard that they are not in great shape financially. Interest only repayments on the clubhouse...
Maybe check out that side of things before committing?
