Seeing as how it has been a really crap summer, I am already looking forward to my September television.

I was having a look at some of the new shows coming through this year and my first thought was why did they even bother? Very little effort put in by the networks and I see lots of early cancellations.

However I wonder what veteran show will be cancelled this season. My money is on for Hawaii Five-Oh. Its performance last season was all over the place and the numbers went into freefall. They must have some sweet deal from the state to film there as there is always great shots of the island and what it has to offer.

    My own personal shows:

I am looking forward to the return of Scorpion. It had a solid first season and the character development has come on an awful lot. I got to share a salad with Jaydn Wong so that helps the cause.

The NCIS franchise still does it for me. I was always a JAG fan, so seeing alumni appear on the shows is great. The addition of Emily Wickersham last season to replace Cote De Pablo has been a great success. A lot of people are going Ziva who? LA had some of their worst figures this past season but they arent going anywhere. The only fly in the ointment is that the actors all had 7 year contracts so we might see someone big getting killed off at the end of Season 7.

Chicago Franchise is solid. Fire and PD are to be joined by Med. Lets see if Dick Wolf can pull this one off.

So as I look at the new season and see that there is a lot of crap this year the best of whats on offer for me is:

Blindspot - I can see this being an early cancellation
    Quantico - Egh!
Limitless - Has a bit of Bradley Cooper in it, thats a 50/50
    Code Black - Why bother?
The Player - Because shows about Vegas havnt been done enough
Oil - I thought Don Johnson was dead
Lucifer - I am hoping that this is the big one this year. I really like Tom Ellis, was a big fan of Rush and at one time was being toted as a James Bond. Also has DB Woodside and Laura Harris (Suits) and Lauren German (H5O & Chicago Fire)

been pretty good alright, ive only watched a handfull of shows, but they were all good, i dropped a lot of summer shows after last year, so while i watched a lot less, the quality was much better,

the additions of Deutschland 83 and Mr Robot really helped push the quality up, along with great seasons of The Last Ship, Tyrant and Suits getting back on track

Dark Matter and Killjoys were good space based Sci-fi fun, not great, but theirs potential, more entertaining that Continuum and Defiance which i dropped,

True Detective season 2 was a complete dud for me, how can the people who made season 1 also be involved in this trainwreck of a season, i wouldnt blame the actors, the casting was fine, but everything else just let it down,

but for the upcoming season, i wouldnt expect a cancellation till november at the earliest, networks are finding it much harder to get good shows going, i found last year they finally lowered their expectations, i would have thought scorpion would have been cancelled within 3 episodes, cause thats when i stopped watching, by far the worse show i started watching, cancellation written all over it, but my understanding is that the network stuck it out and the show improved and now is coming back for a second season,

upcoming im really looking forward to Narcos and Jessica Jones on Netflix and The Man in the High Castle on Amazon,

on cable looking forward to Westworld on HBO, Billions on Showtime, Fear the Walking Dead and Into The Badlands on AMC, Ash Vs The Evil Dead on Starz

on the networks im hoping Blindspot, Limitless, Minority Report, Lucifer, Quantico, Code Black and Supergirl can turn out to good additions to my viewing schedule,

and thats on top of a lot of shows that are returning, and shows i probably havent heard anything about yet,

Emily Wickersham as been anything but a great success not her fault but the writers didn't do anything to help her.

She was more of a third wheel all season forced on the rest of the cast and fans just so they could have a second female lead.

Also it's been a pretty great summer of tv.

What's your source for that because any of the feeds I read she has been welcomed with open arms.

Well, sections of the Tiva camp hate her character, that's a given. I don't hate her, and it's incredibly difficult to integrate a new team member into a double digit series, but I can't really think of any distinctive traits Bishop has brought to the show.
