Going to drop off my family at cork airport at 3 AM.

Is it possible to park right outside departure area for few minutes? To take off luggage and say bye bye.

    Thanks

Was up there recently at lunchtime and there was a line of cars parked in the departures area with no drivers and no apparent problems.

I'd imagine you'd be fine but it's at your own risk as always with these things.

    Cool
I will be next to car anyways.

You could do that in Dublin all hours of the day (you could even have a snooze at T2 departures) so I'd imagine 3am in Cork wouldn't be a problem.

Used to. As recently as 8 years ago I left my car for an hour one evening awaiting a pick up. These days your passengers are jumping out the windows to keep the airport police happy :)

Ah they're not as bad as they were a few years back. They're pretty relaxed now, especially if you are actually there letting someone out (instead of picking up).

03:00 seems extraordinarily early to be dropping people off, given that the first flight is not until 05:55.

04:00 would be more than sufficient.

We are not talking about an airport with excessive volumes of people passing through it (to the extent that there will be massive queues).

Seriously - you do not need to be there before 4am.

And you'll find there's a big queue there already. In June we arrived at 4.30 and after bag drop were told to go straight up to security. The queueing area was full at that stage.

True, crazy with charter flights this time of year, I arrived a few weeks ago at 05:45 for a 06:30 flight and the queue was massive, made it through in time though. Family in front of me catching a 09:00 flight, madness.

That's still early in my opinion, but less rushed I suppose, enjoy.
