wall hung sink semi pedestal

    I ordered a sink online - wall hung and bottle trap. The supplier called up to say they couldnt supply the exact one but could supply a similar alternative.
    The sink a moods-amyris-1-tap-hole-basin-with-semi-pedestal-600mm

    The sink arrived but when I look it up it comes with a semi-pedestal - is the semi pedestal required to install the sink or can it be wall hung without it.
    The plumber has already plumbed up for this sink and the walls being tiled.

    Semi Pedestal is the same as a full pedestal, only for decorating purposes to hide pipes etc, not essential.

    They are NOT the same.

    The full pedestal allows pipework from the floor to be concealed all the way up.
    The semi ped requires all the pipe work to be in an area covered by the semi.

    The semi make cleaning much easier

    OP: where is the pipework?

    The pipe work has been plumbed into the wall and tiled over to allow for the installation of the bottle trap. The question was the pedestal or semi pedestal is not required for supporting the basin. So this seems to be the case purely to hide the pipe work.
