Is the Iron Man on tomorrow that big? Every hotel in Dublin City is booked out tonight from the no star to the five star ones. Or am I missing something else on. I know the GAA is on but most people do a day trip don't they?

Hard to find a late hotel most weekends right now.

If you want a room in Dublin on a Friday or Saturday night during high-season you should really book at least a fortnight in advance; when there's a special event like a big gig or match, a month is advisable.

Not looking for me and obviously that's advisable but it's not possible in this situation. I just have never seen every room gone unless a huge concert on, just surprised.

    Two. There's two.

I count 4. 4 more than the OP's original 'none'.

Mod note: a bunch of silly and unhelpful posts removed. Some users need to check the charter and pause for thought a bit more before they post. Tnxby.

Not when the games start as late as 6pm, and/or the teams are from counties as far away as Donegal and Mayo have a very long trip home. That was the case today. If it's an afternoon throw in, people would go back home as soon as the game is over, but when it's an evening game, they would tend to stay over more. If you know you'll be needing a hotel on the same day that you know a big game is on at Croker, its a good idea to check the start time, as evening throw ins are not uncommon.

Apparently due to the heat wave in Europe a lot of people are travelling up north for relief.

I have family coming in next week for this reason, they are holidaying in Ireland for a break.

Other family can't get hotel rooms.
