€1,000 / 1.0 - 1.4 / NCT / Hatchback

Right lads and ladies of the Buying section, gimme a bit of help

I'm after a small car for €1,000 or less, 1.0 ltr - 1.4 ltr which has a good NCT and isn't a rust/mould bucket.

It's something to do me for a few months while I settle on my next car.

Tax isn't important but NCT is a must as I would like to be able to sell it on again easily enough.

My preference would be a Ford Focus (yeah yeah, 1.4 is underpowered etc.) but I don't care. I will only be using it for going to an from work and around town.

Did you sell the BMW?

This Toyota Starlet just appeared on donedeal. Seems immaculate all around and is NCT'd until April.

Thanks lads, maybe I should have mentioned that I don't want granny-mobiles so starlets, micras etc are all out.

I have spotted a good few 1.2 Seat Ibizas that are tickling my fancy. Cheers Colm!

I would avoid that vw group 3 cylinder 1.2 lt engines reliability wise even it had a recent NCT.

I would restrict my search to japanese models to avoid potential isseus arising after buying in that range. But most of them are granny cars.

Focus would be a runner though.

2003+ Fiesta 1.25 would be easy one to resell as a starter car as well. It ay be hard to find one in budget though.

At that budget it will be very difficult to find a good clean car that meets your criteria. This car from the bangernomics thread might be an option though?
