Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but here goes. I just completed an 8 month access course. Around 5 months into the course I was chatting with another guy about income and he mentioned he was on a thing called back to education. I replied what is that? He explained. So now am I in trouble was my first time on the dole ever in twenty years and I was stupidly under the impression that I was okay to do the course. Should I now go and tell the dole the situation or will they lock me up for robbing them?

It's a kick in the teeth because I finished top of my year and got accepted into the degree which is the 3rd best in the UK for the degree I've chosen.

They wouldn't lock you up but they could ask you to pay back the Jobseekers you received.

I'm not 100% sure how this works -

Ask the Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed for advice

They have a really really good welfare rights team who could advise

    Ring them on 01 8560088

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
