Paypal just paid an overdue eBay balance without authorisation

Feel free to move this if it's in the wrong place.

I don't have automatic billing set up. EBay haven't been able to touch my Paypal account for months and Paypal haven't been able to touch my bank account, but out of nowhere they just took €190 out of my bank account to pay the bill. I haven't even logged in in months. The only contact I've had from them are emails saying "you have to pay this now" and then "thank you for paying", with nothing in between and I didn't do anything. Then they sent me an email saying automatic billing has been cancelled, even though I cancelled it last year.

Since I didn't authorise it, would I be able to get my bank to reverse the charge? For what it's worth, I was planning on paying it when I can afford to, but I had to leave my job due to an illness last year so money has been really tight.

Can they even argue that by having an account I've agreed to their Ts&Cs, when I haven't been able to log in to close it? Every time I try to log in I get a "request could not be processed" error. Because they say to disagree you have to close your account within 30 days, and then, accidentally or not, made it impossible for me to close it.

Did they take it from your account or from a cancelled card? I believe they can legally chase payment even if the card number has changed.

You owe them money, they took it. I'd move on personally.
