Shergar Cup Day

Has anyone noticed that there are no riders from the UK in the UK and Ireland team? :pac:

Anyway, I just took some of the 5/2 on the UK & Ireland being the winning team. UK & Ireland have 6 of the last 14 Shergar Cups, the Girls have never won and the Europe team look to have the weakest batch of rides this year. Surely UK&Ire at 5/2 is the value bet.

Whole thing is a joke. Can't understand how anyone can take it seriously. Horse racing is not a team sport. Never can be, never will be.

Oh I agree that it's a load of nonsense, but 5/2 seems like decent value to me.

12:55 - Hawkeyethenoo has been a road to nowhere over the last three years for punters. I think it's interesting that this one has been dropped to 5f again. While its recent record over that trip hasn't looked great, on both occasions when it has run over the 5, it has made an absolute pig out of the start and left itself with no chance. Think on the favoured good ground at Ascot where it has rarely disgraced itself that 20/1 available with Corals is a nice price.

Snaidhm @5/1, positive she's joint top rated, gets 7 pound from the rest of the field, and the claimer takes off another 7 so strictly speaking with a 14 pound pull she should win this! Application of cheek pieces might liven her up too so she can keep pace on the quicker ground...

Negative her best form is on winter ground, soft - heavy and she wont get that tomorrow.

I've backed her to stop an awful run of late

2015 probably hasn't been one of the better seasons for the good doctor (Koukash) - but Ballesteros is well down the handicap ratings, and showed a spark of decent form last time out at Thirsk where it was narrowly beaten by Whozthecat. The 0-85 race that it's in tomorrow is weaker than a lot of its most recent races, so I reckon the good doctor has targeted this race as a realistic opportunity to turn around this one.

    Where's the market Francie?

AP Keatley sending the same four horses to Ayr tomorrow as he did last month when he got 3 wins and a 2nd, even with a few pounds extra they've all got a good chance, so I've done a small L15.

AidanKKK isn't posting his 100 bets thread, but Hawkeyethenoo is surely big bet material in the first at Ascot tomorrow @ 20/1. I'd have expected a single figure price.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,137 ✭✭✭gazza1

CROGHILL TUPENCE 8.00 looks way overpriced with B365 at 14/1 and i expect it to shorten to nearer the 8s that both boyles and pp have him at.
14s looks a very good ew bet considering both his wins have been at this course .

I have stuck him up on my own site. If this was a 6 furlong race i would be loosing my mind, but still i'm convinced he can win shortly. I also like Boom the Groom in it.

Another cliff horse, I've avoided Secret Witness for most of this year but He has a very good record when running within a day or 2 of another run and today he is doing that in the 4:35 Haydock. I wonder will he spark into life. Worthe a small bet at 22/1

Just out of the places :(

Ran well though, over 6 ill be all over him..

That jockey on boom the groom hadn't a clue though, he needs to be held up last, and come through. Leading on his own on 1 side wasn't what was needed there. But thats the sillyness of that Shergar Cup.

Chanced Communicator in the next at Ascot 6/1

Manchestar 1-50 Haydock is slipping back down in the weights and bar its last run has been performing well enough, ground should be perfect 12/1 looks a decent price

Thats 2 very suspicious rides ive noticed at Ascot in the 1st 3 races. I thought Smullen was slightly easy on his mount in the finish in the 1st and that ride from Take on Barwick was very suspect

Rembrandt Van Rijn is a really progressive animal, that was a smooth performance.

Practically impossible to find a winner lately:(

Burn The Boats at 33/1 in the 3:05 - this one has had its fair share of problems so I am not at all surprised that it's having a chance of scenery, moving from Ger Lyons stable.

All is not well in the Shergar cup you reckon? Shocking allegations, the pride of wearing those green silks is beyond corruption.

ASIAN WING 8.10 ayr must have a decent chance if he can reproduce his run LTO when only beaten 3 3/4L by the progressive MODEM.
