    Get on your bike with Portumna Cycling Club on Sunday 9th of August for a fun 15km family cycle with refreshments along the way. For more experienced and adventurous cyclists take part in a 50k or 100k scenic route around the Sliabh Aughty Mountains all in aid of local woman Olive (Dermody) Shaughnessy. This event promotes healthy recreation and will help in some way to financially support Olive and her husband Tom and four children as they deal with the reality of life threatening cancer and the impact on their lives.Please see Olive’s blog here: https://mycoffaith.wordpress.com/
    Event details:
    Registration is from 7:30am on the Sunday morning, come early as large numbers are expected. We are also hoping to open registration on the night before and will post details.
    Registration will take place in the Engine Room Fitness and Wellbeing Centre on Clonfert Avenue. http://www.engineroomportumna.ie/
    Registration costs:
    100km - €25 single
    50km - €20 single
    15km - €10 single/€20 family as this is the family cycle.
    If you are a cycling Ireland member please bring your card / number.

    Wristbands are given out at registration and you need a wristband to have access to the food stops and also use of the mechanics if needed.

    Mark Rohan the Irish Paralympic hero, winner of two gold medals at the 2012 Summer Paralympics and world champion in 2010 and 2011 will be attending the event and taking part. http://www.markrohan.com/
    Spokes and Saddles bike shop from Loughrea will be onsite in the morning for any tune ups needed and will be covering the 100km route on the day.
