Hi folks, baby number 2 due at the end of Jan, our current one will be 18 months then.
Likely number 3 will come along by the end of 2017.

Currently have a 3 series that's been bullet proof and will be kept but its not feasible for 2 kids under 2.

Budget is about 35K and looking to buy a 161 or if i can get a could deal on a 15x demo.

Drove an outlander today (had one previously and liked it despite it being a lemon) also drove a 1.6 Superb estate, liked both but the superb was underpowered.

Any other suggestions, given i'll need 2 isofix seats and a booster probably within 2.5 years?

Also the outlander we looked at is the 4 wheel drive with list price of €37K, what type of discount could i expect when not trading in?

    Thanks

The Outlander is really old hat these days and the interior is very low rent imo.

Hyundai Santa Fe is worth looking at, a 15 reg model should be within budget next year:

New Nissan X-Trail is another though it's really not a full 7 seater, the 3rd row of seats are really only for kids so not sure how long term you want it to be. Only available in 1.6d also which could struggle a bit if the car is loaded with people and other bits. Might be worth a test drive anyway.

    But it is feasible :)

We had 3 kids in 4 years and we never had any need to buy SUVs / MPVs or anything like that. With 3 small kids all needing full child seats, you will need a large / wide car though and your 3 series wouldn't be big enough. But you'll have a few years to think about that problem before #3 comes along in 2017 :)

It is, we could manage with it..
But have you seen the boot on a series and trying to fit a double buggy in there

The wife will also be up and down to mayo once number 2 pops out and will need space for travel cots etc, all of that isnt going to fit into a 3 series

Why not look at the BMW 2 series Active Tourer. It can be got as a 5 seat or 7 seater. Might be what you need and in your budget. A Ford S-Max could also be nice and its a new model too. The old model still looks better do.
A Kia Sorento is another you could look at its very good value for what it is and was only out this year so its new too. Its also a 7 seater.
