Just slow down and think about what you are posting. You say you cannot speak to your parents and you feel you should talk to a doctor but can't, however I would suggest you talk to your favourite aunt or uncle or even a close neighbour.

I am sure that if you speak in confidence to any of the above they will be only too willing to help. Pick up the phone now and speak to someone who you do feel close to. Go for a cup of coffee and talk this through now.

To be honest i'm too embarassed to talk to anyone i know about this. I really don't know what to do. I feel i'd be judged if i even mentioned social anxiety, i don't think many people know what it is.

OP, social anxiety is very treatable. Yes, it will take effort but you can really improve your quality of life. You won't be alone and isolated forever. While family can be a great source of support, you don't have to talk to them yet or at all.

It is worth going to your GP. You're not alone with these struggled and it's something your GP sees probably every day. When I was first going to my GP with anxiety I got great advice to write down everything. That way all I had to do was show up and hand it to him. Still wasn't easy but much more manageable than saying it.

You also might find the anxiety / depression thread over in long term illness a good place to vent, get advice etc

    Mod Note:

I'm sorry OP but once a poster mentions suicide or suicidal feelings we have to close the thread down.
All we can do is direct you to this thread which has some useful links to organisations that are there to help you.

Otherwise please go and see your GP as soon as you can, but if you feel you are in immediate risk please present yourself to your local emergency room and tell them you need help.
