hi, silly question but do I just ring up and ask for a consultation? It says for patient referrals. What is involved? Still trying to decide whether to do it or not as I'm nervous. I don't even like using eye drops

Why do you want to see Prof O Keefe? Usually they would like a referral letter from your doctor or optometrist but it really depends what you are going for

Thanks for the reply daisies. I was thinking of laser eye surgery and his name has come up on threads. Does my doctor have to refer me?

Not in that instance. I would ring and ask for a consiltation for laser. They will likely put drops in your eyes and you vision might be blurry after (your reading will be very blurry), bring a pair of sunglasses as you will likely be light sensitive

    Hi Terri,

I had lasek with Prof O Keeffe in January this year. I was told when booking the initial consult that whoever does this consult/testing will be the person who carries out your surgery so just bear this in mind when booking if you are set on a specific person.

Just give the reception there a call and ask about his availability.

I had mine done there by himself a year ago this week. As far as I remember I was able to get a consult with him as early as the following week. Once I had the consult I booked in 2 weeks later to get them done. As far as I remember he only does the surgery on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The rest of his days are doing consults and check ups and the like.

You could not possibly be in safer hands. Just go for it, a year on and its by far and away the best money I have ever spent, better then 20/20 in both eyes with zero problems.

As another poster said - any questions drop me a pm and I would be more then happy to help you.
