It would have been healthier to get a carton of salt and pour it down your throat than eat there.

They are to Chinese food what Starbucks is to coffee. Most of the Chinese in Dublin eat the other end of O'Connell st

Generally if I wanted a Chinese meal in town (Dublin Ireland for the pedantic ) I would got to Parnell st or its environs but didn't have time for that.

It's a fast food joint, not really a restaurant.

I have occasionally rolled in there after lots of drink.

Whether or not the indigenous Chinese population, students or Dublin foodies rate its authenticity isn't usually high on my list of priorities.

Exactly, if it fills a gap and it suits you then where's the harm!

It all only goes to make a shít anyway!

The food snobbery on here sometimes defies belief!

Feel sorry for the Chinese though. Open up a cheap little restaurant for locals then some muppet discovers it on a pretentious blog and the next week it's knee deep with students and annoying foodies crossing the river on an authenticity tip

I wouldn't say it's sad to use a knife and fork if people want to. If we go to a place in China, most of us would probably try to use chopsticks.

It's not racist. Its an observation. Perhaps there were a number of Chinese people using knives and forks.

I'm sure you know the difference between the two.

It's important for foreigners to conform to our received perceptions of them at all times.

Like a cultural safari, as it were.

It's a fast food restaurant in Dublin. Getting hung up about chopsticks is like demanding a finger bowl in Leo Burdocks.

So if you strolled into a Middle eastern Gaf would you be disappointed if they didn't eat with their Lamha..

I'll never cease to be amazed by the things that people will complain about

I wonder if Chinese children learning the piano have to learn a piece called 'Knife and Fork"?

How the fcuk did a 'bit of Dublin' thread turn into a debate on chopsticks, would we not be better discussing the pro's and con's of Swedish porn v German porn.

We have a bit of a Dublin forum here. Not sure which bit of Dublin you want to put it in but please read their charter, and perhaps use the search function, before posting.
