Problems with a cloud of smoke only when starting my Santa fe 2006 in morning local garage mentioned something to do with a flap in or on the manifold works similar to a choke flap. is this expensive to replace or repair.
Local garage sprayed something on or in the manifold to free a kind of inlet flap. But wasn’t too sure if it would work. Says it’s a big job to take manifold off of my 2006 Santa fe. Might be a spring that is stuck or broken that works the flap.

I think there is an actuator on the idle air intake side, I remember one being changed in the past, €260-€280+vat I think. I assume it's a 2006- 2.2.....

Thank you so much for your reply i really appreciate it. I have a 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.0L not a 2.2 but i expect this idle actuator is on both engines. Sounds like you have detailed exactly what my local garage says is wrong with mine. I aim to change vehicles soon so i dont want to spend a lot of money if i will be changing soon. Thanks again.
