Hoping it's okay to ask this here!

I'm going to pay insurance for someone as a gift and was hoping that someone could give me some indication as to aroun potential cost?

    She's 21, full licence but 0 years experience. Car is a Peugeot 206 2002

Would I be looking at €1500 or more? I've budgeted up to €2000. Is this a reasonable amount?

Any round about help would be really appreciated as I dit drie myself so have no clue.

    Maybe do some online quotes?

I would say less then €1500.

I insured my 1999 car when I was 19 (and I am a male) for €1300 with First Ireland. I would go to a broker such as First Ireland and ask for a quote. They will understand your situation and will provide you with a decent quote.

€1500 should be lots considering the age, car and full licence.

Has she been named on someone elses insurance policy for at least 12 months?

If she has then she will be entitled to an introductory no claims bonus by most insurers.

Unbelievable. I've a full licence, full no claims bonus, no accidents nor penalty points and AXA quoted me almost €1200 on a 1.6 diesel Ceed. The figures just don't make sense.

Presumably you are able to get it substantially cheaper elsewhere though?

Yes, and I know why you're asking me that too. It's to do with risk exposure and having a certain amount of each category on the books, am I right?

It's just annoying because they wrote to me after I'd gotten a quote last year, inviting me to try again, and they were still miles more expensive. They had a fair idea of what bracket I'd be in, it's wasting people's time.
