Decided to log this yr as its feels a waste just training so here goes....
Bit of backround i wont bore
    Male 33
    10k pb 41:10 (flat out)
Dcm 2014 3:49:51 (carried ankle injury last yr so little training in run up to marathon)
So after nearly a full yr out mainly due to ankle injury after dcm and laziness, I've decided to right the wrongs of last yr. I started training on monday 3rd so as of now im a drink free zone. Im also cutting out the crap in my diet cause i should be twice the size i am.
This log is hopefully gona keep me on track and ill be as honest as i can.
Any hints and tips along the way will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks for reading.

Ok two runs in this week

    Mon 3.18m Avg Pace 8.13/mi

    Wed 4mile Avg Pace 7.48/mi

Mondays run was 1st run in a while . Suffered badly with breathing, finished strong, happy enough
Wed run was around the local gaa pitch, no hills but very boring, happy with pace, felt much better after.

Forgot to add im cycling to work again most days. Its 4.5k one way. 5.5mile round trip .Easy downhill ride to work in morning but hard return journey.

    Fri 7th
Back on the road again. Much tougher than running around the field on the flat. Im living in drogheda and you cant avoid the hills no matter how hard you try.
    Ran 5miles
    Avg pace 8:11/mile
    Total time 41:01
Ave to say im say im struggling with the pace. Might ease off for a few runs till i get fitness back.

    Short little jog today
    2.77mile
    Avg pace 8.11/mi
    Felt much better toay..
I know it was short but didn't get the usual burn in the throat/chest.
Lost 2half pounds aswell this week. Sticking to a healthy diet. Ave another few to lose and then ill be happy.
    1st weekend beer free .
Have to say it was hard with sport on this weekend. And i was dying for a few cans sat night after painting the shed, but stayed strong and feel a million dollars now.
    Week 1 over.....

You don't sound too OCD too me. 3.18 miles. 2.77 miles. I know a few people around here who'd be tapping their feet just reading that. :)

Well done on staying off the beer. What's the target for DCM? Are you following a plan? Need to be getting some longer runs in soon (if not too late).

    Ha lol murph
Ya the ocd is a bit selective..although those numbers do grate on me, im only getting used to running miles this yr.
Last yr all my training was in km so just finding my feet a little.
My target this yr sub 3:30
I know its a massive ask but you've got to aim high. If i can stay fully focused and injury free i think im in with a shout.
    As for my training plan.
Im following the "asics run" app on android. With a few little extras along the way.
    Week 2 begins today
    6miler
    Bring it on...

Ok just back. This log is definitely a good thing. Was wrecked coming in from work this evening. Had a little nap . Had to take the young fella to a football blitz from 7 to half 8. Got home and only for this log i would ave put the feet up.
    Feel great after.
    Ran 6miles
    Avg pace 8:18/mi
    Total time 49:53
    Starving now....
Whats the best snacks to ave after a run? ?
