Not a DIY effort, moved to main forum.

Sometimes no reviews on the internet only mean no-one has any complaints yet, or at least hasn't bothered.

In my experience Autofast Swords are very unprofessional. I phoned ahead and made an appointment for a specific day and time, but on arrival was told I'd be waiting two hours for the work to be evaluated despite the fact that I had an appointment. After two hours nothing had been done - the car still had not even been looked at, so I took my keys back and left. No apology or reason for the delay was offered. So for me it was one wasted morning. My advice: stay away.

In fairness I have yet to see a garage, including main dealer, that will book you in for a specific time and work straight away on your car.
Most garage will tell you to bring the car first thing in the morning and that it will be ready around lunch time or end of the day.

Some tried to do small jobs first thing in the morning so you are expecting your car back at 10am after you dropped it at 9am. But never really worked well. There is always drawbacks.

When I've brought my car to the dealership I arrived both times at the arranged times, my car was moved into the workshop and work started within 5 minutes of my arrival. The dealership has a huge window so you can see your car being brought in and being worked on.

The first time the car was finished in the original timeframe, second time it was done early.

I don't think dealerships are as busy though.

They seem to have more staff and/or room in the garage to do more work at the same time.

I know that the two local indie garages will never take your car in straight away unless it doesn't require to be lifted because they only have three lifts and there's no point cleaning up and taking a car off the lift until it's finished.

If you have lots of lifts you can always take in a car for a quick service and let a bigger job wait.

It depends of the dealer. Try this in Dublin in my experience and depending on the work that needs to be done, it is often a different story.

I go to Athlone so quite a different story I suppose!

I use Dublin dealers and you get your appointment and your car is worked on straight away. I get the wife's car serviced "while you wait" 90 minutes or less.
