Attic conversion - Change roof from hip to full apex?

Any ideas if it's possible to change the roof style on a semi D from a hip style apex to a full apex ?

The house is 30+ years old and we're thinking of getting the attic converted. We'd need a dormer to the side which would require PP anyway, so I was wondering about the possibility (& possible cost) of this way instead.

    Yes possible subject to planning.
Got one recently granted in Dundrum but it depends on your area, precedent and the planner dealing with the application.

tough to price on its own but if you are "gutting" to that extent, it won't be an awful lot extra in the overall as you are just building up the wall, and extending to roof timbers.

It seems like the more sensible thing to do to maximise the available space. Cost will come into it though...
