    Message reads :
The installation failed in the Safe_OS phase_install Recovery_Environment operation.
    Error 0XC1900101 – 0X2004
W7 fully patched & stable. Laptop deemed fully suitable for upgrade. Disabled Anti Virus / Firewall. Attempted upgrade by Media creation tool. Error occurs late in the process, after successful download, verification, updates copying files then …....reverts to W7 !
I have created 64 bit ISO but will hold off till I solve errors.
    thoughts welcome.

First thing is to try an integrity check.
    sfc.exe /scannow

Run from an elevated command prompt.

Also worth doing a quick disk check(not that chkdsk is great)
    chkdsk /f

    then reboot.

Have done & all clear. Still no joy.

Try running setup file from the Disc instead.
I've had several stalls when just running the upgrade from within windows, but no problems when I run setup from a burned ISO on disc.
