Printer for Photobooth

Looking to buy a printer for a Photobooth business.

Looking at different options. The Canon SELPHY CP910 seems to be the cheapest option.
I would mainly be looking to use these at weddings & at 47sec per print is slow enough.

Also looking at DNP printers. More expensive & fast printing times.

Just looking for some feedback on what some photographers have used

    Many thanks

Heard some bad things about DNP. Don't know mush about the canon but I do like their cameras :)

I only event printer that I have used is the Mitsubishi D70DW, a bit pricey but I like the quality and finish on the prints. Its a thermal printer so I love the glossy prints from it.

Was looking at one of those. They got great reviews. Plus the new firmware update

I've read on fotoclubinc.com "Now capable of printing and cutting 2x6" prints! Ideal for Photobooth and Event!"

    Any issues with reliability ?

We use the Mitsi too, we only got one because after just 6 events the power supply popped and cost 300 to repair.

Great printer otherwise and the 2x6 option is nice. It does suffer from one design flaw though, where it trims the print before it ejects can cause these offcuts to get caught in the output and is very difficult to clear in the darkness of a gig. The result is the printer jams up and snaps the ribbon.

We also have a DNP DS-RX1which gives no trouble at all and we have the 3 SONY UP-DR200 which have all performed flawlessly for nearly 7 years now, easy to load. Having to use a different media roll to do 8x6 prints can be a bit of a pain though.

    Hi All,

Any recommendations for a reasonably small/ portable dye sub printer to print 5x7 photos at weddings? I only need to print a few photos for a guest signing frame and for framed prints for the parents but it would save a run to the photo lab for my second shooter if I had a printer with me. Would really have to be a dye sub I think to avoid any potential print quality/ lines/ ink running out issues.

    Thanks!
