Automatic to Manual Licence

Hi I've been driving for 5 years with an automatic licence. I would like to get a full manual licence now.
What is required in order to get this. Can I just apply and do a manual test or am I required to apply for a learners permit, sit a theory test, complete 12 lessons with a driving instructor and then do the test?

I can drive a manual car and I know all the rules of the road, driving in traffic etc.

    Any help would be brilliant.
    Thanks

If you hold a full B with an automatic restriction, you keep your full licence with the 78 notation and you have to apply for a learner permit (that doesn't have the 78 notation). You won't have to take the EDT lessons but you may have to take the theory test. You will be required to be accompanied by a fully licensed driver when you are driving a manual car.

Once you have the learner permit you can apply for a driving test. You don't have to stipulate it's a manual test or invoke any special system- just apply for the test, pass in a manual car and then go back to the NDLS with the cert of competency without the 78 notation and exchange it for a new full licence without the 78

Have you ever completed a car theory test, even a long time ago?

Yeah i completed the theory test when i obtained my automatic licence.
So all i need to do, is apply for a learners permit, apply and pass my test, then reapply for a new licence without restrictions?
