Broadband & 4G in Donegal/Derry Border

    Folks need advise here.

I'm based in Burt (10 minute from Derry/Donegal border)

I'm now with NWE Bluebox for last 18 months.

    I'm on Network Three (North)

The signal for Three is alright for me (3G) - 0.50MB to 1.3MB Depending on peak time. Unlimited data on phone.

Broadband speed is shocking! Worst in last 3 months now and not working anymore last 4 days. I'll be lucky to get 0.2 to 0.9MB at any time.
Anyone else in same situation as me?

Unfortunately Fibre broadband is not possible in my area.
Wouldn't go back to Eircom in a fit. It's even worst than Bluebox.
Anyone else have better ideas before I lose my temper.

I'll be happy enough with least 10MB. I wouldn't mind paying big money for at long it's garrretee I'll get least 10MB

    Advise?

    Thank

Check all the other mobile broadband providers - you might be nearer a Meteor/Vodafone/ mast etc?

I've spoke to Eircom yesterday. They're installing Cable from LK to Bridgend. Which is good news and work will be finished by May 2016.
So I'm chafing to Vodafone just for internet for the phone only but will be keeping Three for calls and texts.

Thank. I've got an email from Sheena from Vodafone and it's confirmed the signal is poor for 3G. Getting more info about phone line broadbrand from Vodafone and I'll see the craic about it. I rather wait till Eircom install the cables connection box next ear and I'll be happy man for good.

Update- NWE admitted that the problem was their side. Their servers is overloaded and they doing some up grade work at Burtfoot station.

    No update so far.

I'm still with Bluebox as I've no choice atm.

I've been looking at Signal Booster for my phone Network.

There's too many online to choose but not sure as I'll be happy to get full signal on 3G.

I've done the speed test many time on Home Broadbrand. It's better than it was at the summer time.

I'm getting 1.2MB most time until it's hit 5pm to 12pm it does down to 0.1MB

    What about you?

    Who's Charlie Mc Conalogue?

Anyway I'm in Burt 500 Yards from An Granian Hotel.

I've been told by someone on Live Chat Via Eircom that it'll take 6-12 months but I wouldn't believe till I see it and also found out that even if they did install Fibre exchange at main road. They'll not cover where I live.

They installing exchange in NewtonCunningham and Bridgend so I don't know if that any good to me.

In serious need for 100mb ffs!

I find them useless - terrible customer service, always breaking down, have to make numerous phone calls and emails before someone does something. If I had any other choice I would drop them straight away.

    100% agree with you.

    Worst provider & Customer Service.

In last 4 weeks now speed is shocking!

In last 2 days our speed is no more than 0.3MB and 2am is 0.7MB

I've been on phone to other providers like Eircom & Virgin Media. No luck with information about Optic Fibre date for exchange connection. Thinking of going back to Eircom for steady 2mb speed but I can't remember what it like when we had EIrcom it's been more 5 years since we left Eircom for Bluebox.
