    Have these myself:

Once you get used to clipping in you probably won't use the flatside much.

I can count on 1 hand the amount of times I've used the flat side.

I'd also recommend those Shimano M324 pedals as well if you are looking for dual-sided functionality.

Shop around (online) to find the best price.

I've got Shimano XT T780 SPDs on the MTB. They have been bulletproof so far.

I've had those pedals and been reasonably happy with them at the time. Then I got these: http://www.shimano-lifestylegear.com/gl/fw/products/pedal/009pd_a520.php?pSccontentsPro

I have found these ones much better, especially if you spend a lot of time using the flat side. Incidentally, if you are going to spend 80% or more of the time clipped in, I wouldn't bother with combo pedals - just use SPD pedals.

    They look nice. I use
Shimano A530 myself. I find the slightly wider platform provides better lateral support than my old M520s where my feet would rock side to side.
