Recovering photos

I've lost a phone with some extremely sentimental family photos on them. Unfortunately I didn't have them backed up anywhere. I did however view them via USB cable on my desktop PC on Windows photo viewer and media player (without exporting them). I was wondering are they cached similar to internet browsed photos. If so how do I recover them or am I out of luck?

Yeah, unfortunately this is what has to happen before people learn the importance of backing up. There are loads of free options out there that are very easy to use for backing up photos.

    Sorry OP
