    Hi All

Does anyone have one of these im thinking of getting one of these the main reason is that i can link it to 510. Im not looking at the elite cant justify the cost just the HD version.

Any reviews of feedback greatly appreciated.

I have one and it works great. I've used it on the bike, on my kayak, in the car and even on a shotgun.

The only criticism I'd have is that, imo, it's too heavy to go on a helmet - but others may disagree.

Playback quality, overlays and data are all very good.

I'd agree, I don't own one but got to play with one in harvey norman, and they're a big heavy beast of a thing. Although the footage on them looks great.

...and just to add, the weight isn't helped by the mount - which tend to protrude above or to the side of the helmet - making it feel even heavier!

The standard (i.e. the black, cheaper one) is HD and records at full 1080. I think you might be confusing HD with Elite ? (Elite adds GPS and Wifi). The standard Virb is controllable via Ant+ so doesn't need Wifi, although it means that the Virb smartphone app won't work with it.

If you have a GPS device, you can import the GPX data from that to the Garmin video software to create the overlays. You can also use the "industry standard" i.e. GoPro mounts as there is an adapter. I'm not sure about it being heavy as such, but it is quite big, especially in it's waterproof housing (not required unless you are going underwater, it's got IPX7 out of the box, so is fine for rain/splashes/occasional dunking/ etc.

If you join Sports Pursuit (simple as signing up with email address), they currently have it on sale for GBP89.99 - http://www.sportpursuit.com/sales/garmin-virb-jul15. I got mine from there a few months back.
