    Hi There,

Looking for a steer on this purchase, need one for an employee who has asked for a 17 inch screen. Looking to get an i3 processor or above. Budget is up to €750

    http://www.laptopsdirect.ie/nav/processor/intelcorei3/screensize/1730in/type/laptops/0

Have found these ones on laptops direct but have no idea if they are good or not or which would be the best.

Any input appreciated, is it as simple as the more you pay the better you get.

Slightly; it's a guideline but not a rule. For example, I've seen laptops of over €1,000 that have no dedicated graphics card but laptops under 800 with a dedicated graphics card (basically a dedicated graphics card is nice for games and running certain programmes).

What's the employee using it for?

Will primarily just be The Office Suite

If it's just a work laptop for MS Office then I'd recommend one from Lenovo. Is it heavy processing based, say extremely heavy excel work for example or is it just sort of "generic" light work?

Just generic light work, thanks for replies

Well that pretty much could go from a 500 euro laptop to the full on 750 euro.
With the 17" laptop all you'd need is 8GB of RAM and a resolution of 1920x1080p. At least an i3 processor (really I'd push for an i5 since it's technically faster but it's completely up to yourself since it's light work).
You say up to 750 euro, am I right in assuming you'd rather not go to the limit and spend less?

    And you're quite welcome.

Great, I will try and find something in the price range with those specs.
    Thanks again

You're welcome. I'll point out that since it needs to be a 17" one, you might not get a cheap one and might actually to pay the full 750 but link any you might find
