    Moved into a new house and cannot get upc anymore

    I drove around estate and the only thing I'm picking up is nova broadband

    I'm used to 120mb unlimited now and nova best package is 20mb with unlimited data but use more that 20gb and you are slowed down

    I stream some TV, do some gaming and downloads

    Will the 20mb do me?? I will.prob only get half that speed though I'd imagine

    I have Nova 10meg and the speed is close to what they advertise. Not fast enough for HD streaming without buffering but if there's no proper broadband in the estate then it's about as good as you'll get.

    It's 20GB daily fair usage on the 20Mb package. It's no UPC by far but thank god I have it because, my only alternative is Eircom DSL at 2Mb. And, at peak times with DSL it was no better than dialup speeds. I would recommend Nova. I've been with them for about a year half now and it's been great. They have a good customer service and will keep you up to date on their facebook page.

    I know this is a bit late, but thought I'd add my 2c in case anyone else stumbles across this thread.

    I was left with no choice but to go with satellite broadband due to being in quite a rural location. After browsing boards and checking out a few providers websites I went with Nova. I signed for;

    - 10gb daily limit (after which speed is dropped, this was important to me, did not want charges for overuse!)
    - "up to 10mb" download speed (I tested it with the ookla speedtest app 3 times tonight, clocking downloads at 9.8mb, uploads at 1.2mb)

    So that's at 46.99/mo, 6 month contract and there was a 99eur fee for a lad to cone out and put up the dish.

    All in all I'm happy out with it. There's a 5mb offering for 36.99/mo as well I think but decided the extra tenner was worth it, but I didn't stretch to the 20mb for 56.99/mo.

    They actually also used my eircode to find the house, very useful!!

    Just to update on my experience of Nova after 3 years of use.

    Very little downtime, maybe off for 20-30 mins once or twice a year but usually very reliable.
    Signal strength can be affected by the weather. Sometimes my 10meg will drop to 1-2meg during fog/heavy rain/strong winds etc.
    Seems like it suffers from congestion at peak times too but not too badly. My 10meg drops to 5-6meg at peak times but still vastly more useable than any fixed line I can get.

    Just checked their website and the fair use for the 10meg package has dropped to 10gig a day. Fairly sure this was at 30gig. I fell foul of the limit over xmas when downloading a 45gig game from Steam. No charges for going over the limit but the connection speed was completely unuseable until it reset at midnight.
