CBS officially greenlit a pilot for Sneaky Pete, which is being written and exec-produced by House creator David Shore and Breaking Bad Emmy winner Bryan Cranston. The series follows a thirtysomething con man who upon leaving prison assumes the identity of a cellmate and then hides from debtors by toiling for his “new” family’s bail bond business. There, he uses his prowess to take down bad guys worse than himself, all while his pretty “cousin” grows suspicious of his motives.

Amazon Confirms ‘Sneaky Pete’ Series Order For 2016 Premiere
It’s official. We reported in September that Amazon had picked up to series Bryan Cranston and David Shore’s hourlong Sneaky Pete pilot, and now it has been confirmed. Amazon today announced it has greenlighted the drama series starring Giovanni Ribisi for debut exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in the U.S., UK, Germany, Austria and Japan in 2016.

The pilot episode, currently available on Amazon Video and featuring a special appearance by Cranston, was directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses), who also executive produces the show.

Sneaky Pete, a co-production with Sony Pictures TV, revolves around a conman (Ribisi) who, after leaving prison, takes cover from his past by assuming the identity of his cellmate, Pete. He moves in with Pete’s unsuspecting family and is roped into the family’s bail bond business. In order to keep the charade up, he plays the part of a skip tracer, taking down criminals worse than himself — and discovering a family life he’s never had. Marin Ireland, Margo Martindale, Peter Gerety, Libe Barer and Shane McRae also star.

“We are excited to bring to Amazon’s customers a new compelling series headlined by Giovanni Ribisi from the minds of David Shore and Bryan Cranston,” said Roy Price, VP of Amazon Studios. “Sneaky Pete is an incredible addition to Amazon’s expanding drama slate and we are eager for its premiere in 2016.”

    One helluva team behind this..
While David Shore wrote and directed the original pilot, Justified creator Graham Yost has taken it over as writer and showrunner.
Add that to the cast of Giovanni Ribisi, Bryan Cranston, Margo Martindale and Brad William Henke... this could be truly something special.

So that's where Margo Martindale has been hanging out. Decent enough rhythm in the first episode. Not sure about the tone. Cranston's presence helps.

Watched the first 2 eps last night. It's decent, nothing to rave about so far. Will give it a bit of time this week...

I watched first for episodes and enjoying it. Good acting and build up in story is enjoyable. Be interesting to see which direction rest of series takes

Was hoping this would be good given Brian Cranston is in it and Giovanni Ribisi is the lead who I've always thought was underrated.

Overall it's grand if ya want to sit down and switch off your brain for 40 minutes, and enjoy Pete (Ribis) get himself into and then out of one ridiculous and usually perilous situation one after the other, or listen to Vincents (Cranston) long winded stories which lack any real menace, oh and don't think to much about the storyline as it relies on alot of coincidence.

I was hoping for alot more, disappointing 5/10

A good, not great show. I thought it was going to be slightly better, and somewhat darker with Bryan Cranston involved. But I'm becoming more aware that Cranston's line of credit since the fantastic Breaking Bad is running out. Seriously, has he done anything amazing since Walter White? Godzilla, Trumbo? I thought The Infiltrator was boring crap. Oh, he's going to be in the new Power Rangers film.

Giovanni Ribisi is really good in Sneaky Pete. Near the end of the season, it had the feeling of a one season and done show,
but then the cliffhanger-ending to episode 10 nicely setups an interesting dynamic to another season.

Quickly (for Amazon) renewed for a second season.

Wasn't sure initially but it won me over after a few episodes. Would have worked well as a one-off, not sure what a second season will offer above what the first delivered.

    Enjoyed this .

Watched the first two episodes so far. The basic premise is extremely far-fetched. Not sure yet if I'll continue watching this. :pac:

    Orange pilled.

If that's the way ya feel now then I wouldn't bother continuing, It only gets more ridiculous as it goes on.

I enjoyed it. The premise is a bit far fetched but it's done well and I was impressed with Ribisi and liked the rest of the characters. Will look forward to season 2

So I gave a go and watched all of Season 1 and it was pretty decent actually. Looking forward to Season 2. Won't miss Bryan Cranston's character though and his long boring monologues. ;)

    Orange pilled.

4 episodes in, it's decent so far.

    Thoughts?

Not as good as season 1 and I felt the side stories with the family were weak this year. Wonder is there enough for a 3rd season.

Average I thought so far ,I'm up to ep.6,

Pete gets on my nerves ,I feel like he's overacting everytime the cameras pointed at him

I liked it overall, I'm hoping it's renewed for another season.

Just finished I thought it was good but too much going on. I actually didn't understand the whole Julia arc well

    It wasn't bad I thought

The guy who plays marius is one of those twitchy annoying actors who is always pulling a face when he's not talking

I think Dustin Hoffman started it all off

It was released last Friday (10th), so I was surprised that there was nobody talking about it........or watching it.

I'll say one thing about this series, they really have mastered the art of ending each episode on such a cliffhanger that you will be putting on the next one straight away - classic binge watching tactics right there!! :pac:
