    If a parent allows one of their adult children to live rent free in a property owned by the parent, is the adult child liable to pay BIK?

    No.

    BIK only applies to employers/employees.

    No, BIK applies to employees.

    There is a gift however, equal in value to the market rent, which may result in a CAT liability, or use up part of the Group A threshold.
