Hi,my sons 18th is in a few weeks and we want to surprise him with a laptop to play fm15. Ive asked in a few computer shops and been told different specs and such. I have a budget of 500 euro and hoping I can get something suitable. I only have basic knowledge of processors and graphics cards so any help would be invaluable. All help and recommendations welcomed, thks:confused:

I'd advise shopping online; you could get better deals. Is the laptop going to be used for anything else at all?

Hi,no just youtube, films, web browsing and some achool work. The 1 Im looking at is reduced by 100 euro in the sale, cant see a similar spec for the same money,it was the processor and graphics I was unsure about really, thks

Do you have a link to it?

By school work do you mean he'll need to use it on the go or is it just going to be used at home where it can be plugged in all the time?
And I'm assuming it's just for typing things up or the likes?

I would strongly not recommend that one; I actually bought that and had issues with the wifi connecting and got my money back.
Is there any chance you can order online if so that would really be helpful.

No I cant order online unfortunately,do you think its a problem with the specific model or HP laptops in particular. Any recommendations yourself? Thks Tombi

Just in store? Is there no way you could even apply for an o2 money card and use that or even a friend's credit card?

AFAIK, it's HP themselves; basically the little piece that picks up the internet connection on wifi isn't always soldered down properly.
