Just a reminder that this is on this weekend. This is part organised by the lead marshall for all of the Drogheda Wheelers events (Ras Na Nog, Coombes Connor, Peter Bidwell, Brendan Campbell and the Mark Mullen league) so it really is a case of supporting someone who does do much for a lot of us on here.

Anyway, Sunday looks to be a lovely day, and east meath is really nice!

    hope to see you there

Will give this a bash, nice route and a good cause. Happy to do a spin where you're chipping into a good charity rather than some sportive franchise.

I think some of the VCB crew may head along.
I posted it on their fb page anyway.

Looks like a nice day tomorrow!

Yeah planning to do this myself tomorrow.

Did the 100k last year, really nice spin and route. Worth saving some legs for hills in last 40k

Did the 100k today, very nice well organised event (although the lead car took a wrong turn at one point). Got dropped off the lead group in the last 30k or so, if only someone had advised me to save my legs for the hills in the second half.

ha ha i did warn you yesterday :D

Fair play getting to 70k with lead group, any one in that lead group hats off to you as that was impressive, presume it was completed in under the 3 hours by them.
I was with the lead group till 50k mark at which stage my avg was 35kph but i got dropped on drag up to Donore.
I decided "i know the hills in last 40km so dont waste energy chasing a group i really shouldn't be in"

RD cable snapped at shifter going into my garden after it, blessed i got away with that.

Very lucky! Had this happen to me at 35k in the W100 this year and the mechanics couldn't get the cable end out of the shifter without taking it off, had to do the last 65k without being able to change gear on the cassette...

That must have been yourself who I rolled up to Donore with so!? I was in Drogheda Wheelers gear and suffering greatly! Good on you for doing the 100. The feed afterwards was worth it!!

Yeah that was me padjo5, good to talk to you.

Enjoyed those jaffa cakes / fig roll at feed station that made up my mind to finish 100km :D

Is there anything else on like this over the next month? Still waiting for my bike to work scheme to come through, and feel like I've missed all the events of this year...

Savage pace set out by the lead group so I decided it wasn't worth chasing them. Found it difficult to get settled in a group a a comfortable pace. Most seemed to slide back at each drag. It was a lot lumpier than I expected - with the cycle to and from the start I ended up with 1,500 metres climbing. Am I the only one who took a wrong turn at Mallahow? The sign definitely pointed right (to Damastown/Nags Head direction). Some one up to mischief? I was solo at the time and came to a stop as I was puzzled. Anyway I took the right as indicated expecting further signage at the Nags Head. I ended up going back to Stamullen via the R132 so did a few extra kms.

Thanks to the volunteers, marshals, organisers etc. That's a fabulous clunhouse St Patrick's GAA have.

Ha ha that was just your mind playing tricks on you cause it would have been such a short spin for you otherwise.:D
