    Hard to give advice without more info eg. age, current savings, pension, own property, have existing debt, children etc?

    not really, none of that matter
    the OP just wants to find out the best place to stick his regular spare cash

    the askabout money thread already linked is the best place to go. split it up and put 1000 in 2 seperate accounts

    Bank deposits are not the only option. Equities\Pension\paying down debt all to be considered but you cannot provide advice without more info.

    Max out pension relief would be my first recommendation for anyone.
