Hey guys, was thinking of switching to Rocket Broadband and getting the 25Mbps download package. Does anyone here have Rocket and if so what speeds are you currently getting with your current package? I'm with Carnsore Broadband right now, it was good but is now terrible, in the morning i could get 10 Mbps download but right now am only getting 1 or 2 download. At night it can drop to 0.5 Mbps download. Any help would be appreciated.

OP, there's already some threads on Rocket BB here. Also known as Skytel, so have a search for both.

I've seen them, although most are a few years old and was hoping they had maybe improved their business practices?....

Have you used them or just heard bad things?

Used them in the past. Absolutely terrible support. Product itself was terrible in terms of reliability and speed. They offer different packages but it did not matter which you are on you will get same poor speeds. Customer support tends to threaten their customers (happened to me few times) that if they won't stop complaining about poor service their contract will be terminated. Once after i sent complaining email to them they reduced my speed to 100 Kbps. I cancelled my service with them. Their radio has been removed from my roof without my knowledge few months later (their engineer was probably watching our house to wait when we are not there). THat was last year. I would hope their practices changed since. I also noticed that they are changing their infrastructure from Ubiquiti products to Cambium (Motorola) but still within 5GHz spectrum, i'm not sure how would that affect quality of broadband itself.

I'm with permanet. Its very reliable for me and i get what is advertised. I dont do online gaming so latency is not an issue for me. Im hoping for efibre upgrade next year.

Yeah I'm aware of them, no use for me as we use it for gaming and need faster speeds with no traffic quota... I'm hoping for eFibre soon also but I'm not sure if i'm the rollout area on their map, could be at the very edge...

I got blocked from their facebook page because I asked them a question they didn't want to answer even though I sent it privately .
It was a legit question about their download cap.
C'mon Rocket what do you think I'm gonna do next.... that's right, tell everyone I know to avoid you.
    Do business better.
    Dodgy as f••k.

We have been with them for few years, we are rural Wexford so not a lot of choice. Checked Internet Speed tonight, 7, yes 7, not sure what the technical term is forgive me. They blocked me from their Facebook page because I questioned the terrible customer service and believe me it is shocking. Honestly I think they slow it on purpose.
They are a bunch of rude, unprofessional so and sos.
If we knew of a better company we'd change.
