I'm in the process of buying a dormer bungalow,it is unfinished ie,no plastering, floors, roof etc.the blocks are at wallplate level and they sit on a raft foundation.I've had an engineer out to check it on a number of occasions and he's happy to sign off on it.
It's been brought to my attention though that the raft isn't stepped and I'm worried about damp etc,the engineer never said anything about it but I'm sure he would have spotted that?this deal is months in the making and I'm withered from it.is this another stumbling block?no pun intended.any views advice would be really appreciated.

Get the detail that was used and forward to your current engineer.
If tech detail is not available ask him to take another look and specifically mention this new data. He may be able to ease your worries over the phone.

Thanks for the advice, yeah I'll contact him this week.it's just a worry as the deal is nearly done and it's something I may have overlooked.the ground is well drained underneath so hopefully it won't be an issue.
