hi all. im currently driving a 2001 celica 1.8 with 190hp. 0-60 is 6.8 seconds or so, its pretty quick.

With just 0-60 times in mind, i was thinking of buying a different car, with a 3.0 liter engine. Any suggestions?

Have been looking at the 300zx, always thought they were a good looking car. also this is in around my budget of 2 - 3000 euros. the non turbos is around 7 seconds, so slower than my celi, the twin turbo i believe is around 5 seconds.

anyone care to mention any other jap models i could cast my eye too?

    cheers for reading,
    redd .

    Supra TT
    Mitsubishi 3000gt
    Legnum/galant VR4
You don't need to go to 3.0 to get big power though

Maybe an older model turbo Celica, A lancer MR or Evo, or a WRX?

cheers man. looking for a 2 door coupe really. My bro had the previous gen gt4 celica, its more powerful but its heavier, i dont think there would be much in it between the two.
    .
a WRX two door would be interesting, but what are the chances of finding one that hasnt been hammered?

Celicas and wrxs are pretty slow. If you want to go Subaru go sti night and day diffrence to the wrx.

Otherwise forget about the 3.0 thing, Sylvia's and Evos are both 2.0 and skylines are either 2.0 or 2.5 depending on the model. All would leave your current car sitting. Just do your research on whichever one you go after and be prepared to pay for any of them, jap car prices are flying up nowadays.

    Nissan 300ZX:

Though the price probably reflects it needs some TLC.

Without a doubt the best 3.0 Japanese sports car would be the original Honda NSX; you didn't specify a budget!

    2-3k

You might get a NSX headlight for that :)

Prices on Japanese cars went down when the resession started but since the start of last year they are growing in popularity and price.

Best bang for buck would be the zx300 twin turbo or maybe if a soarer comes up.
