So, are you stuck in work today or enjoying the rain at home?

I didn't have anything planned, so don't feel too bad working really. All quiet too so it's fine. Double pay and day-in-lieu makes working it worthwhile imo.

I'm working. I used not mind working on bank holidays but now the occasional random three day weekend would be nice.

    Still though, money.

I'm in the Fota Island resort. Can't decide whether to hit the spa for an hour, or go down for a pint and read my book. Off to Dingle for a few days tomorrow. Bank holidays are hell.

    :(

As me Da always says, 'if it's days in lieu you want eat uncooked sausages'

I'm working. Glorious day in North Donegal, the Paps of Jura are so close you could touch them.

If you're supposed to be at work then get on with it. This skiving on the internet is what has the country in the state it is.

Not a bank holiday where I am.

Nor working though, so **** that :D Currently decided wether or nto to go out and enjoy the sun, or wait until the weekend when it's supposed to hit 37 degrees.

    Decisions, decisions.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Nice way to get through the day all the same. Always on the computer here anyway, so I can't avoid the internet!

Christmas afternoon off? What are you soft?!

I found an old newspaper article from where my great grand uncle was lamenting the new labour laws of 1912 as he now had to give his staff 14 days off a year and was limited to 72 hours per week.
That was the real old days.

I'm in work, but it's not a bank holiday and it's 31° outside, so by the time I'm finished it'll be still sunny and a bit cooler, perfect for a bit of a stroll

Nah- if you eat raw sausages you will end up sick and having to spend the day on the loo.
    Day in lieu! :pac:

Ah now, 1912. I was only born in 1944 so I wouldn't know about that.

Working on a bank holiday used to be fun if you're earning an hourly wage. In one of my jobs I used to work double shifts and with double pay, I'd get what some earn in a week in a single day.

I usually work on public holidays, but have today off. I'm nursing a hangover and trying to convince myself to plan something healthy for dinner :(

Nope, not working today. I'm not really bothered about what days I work, bank holidays, Sundays, New Years Eve, New Years day ect. But not working on Christmas Day for me is sacrosanct.

Likewise - at work, but not a bank holiday here and it's a sunny 29° outside. Miserable.

No, the 'paps of Jura'. Who's Jura and does she know he's eyeing up her paps?

All kidding aside; they make some damn fine whisky on Jura.

He's actually moored in a boat 5 miles north of Tory.
