Hi all, does anyone know the best or should I say cheapest place to insure a 2.5 bmw z4 to be precise.
I'm 33 and just home from Australia. Have had a full clean license since I was 18 and not one penalty point.
Best I can get get is €1700 for just third party with britton. My current insurer is looking for 2300.
When I was 25 I insured a bmw 325 for €1060. I don't understand what had happened in my five years away from home. Will be going back to Australia at this rate.

Zero no claims bonus and trying to insure a 2.5l sports coupe or convertible. It's like the perfect storm for creating an expensive insurance quote.

Have one year built up again and was told that the 1st year is the one that counts by my insurers at year as it is a 48% discount ,, then this year my renewal quote went up by €300 and the excuse is premiums have gone up this year. I had all my no claims taken off me because I was out of the country for more than two years.

That's normal for it to be taken away after two years.

Is this you trying to get insured on the z4?

Your expired No Claims Bonus is what is killing you.

Basically this. Forget the Z4, get a starter car and build up some no claims.

Already paying 1200 on a 1.4 megane valued at €1800 and on my second year now.
Went up from last year. So this year it cost me more with one year built back up.
    That shouldn't even be allowed.

All the media articles around this including the AA are pointing to increased claims and losses causing higher premia.

    Have you shopped around?

Went up from last year which is crazy. Paid €900 last year and they wanted €1500 this year but wouldn't give it to them.
