    Sup,
Would starting out in a golf me craza or not. Dont want to get a small 1.1/1.2 polo/peugot although I know they would be cheaper insurance. It would definitely not be higher than 1.4 or even a Toyota Corolla 1.4 2001-2004? 1.4 is the max

The 1.4 in the Golf is slower than most 1 litre cars, it is perhaps the worst powered 1.4 engine in existance.

Let's not get too carried away, 307, focus, c4 all had 75bhp 1.4 engines

They're not fast, but I'd have one over a 1.2 polo etc

    A 1.4 Corolla/Hyundai i30/Kia ceed would be a good bit nippier though

I learned on a Golf Estate. Great really, I have no issue getting into smaller cars and I don't have the slight worry of getting into something bigger.

Mine is a 1.9 Turbo so the insurance companies had their field days with my 90hp leisurely acceleration.

Another thing to note if you are a young driver is that insurance companies are loading the likes of Golfs, Boras, etc because alot of young lads like to modify them. Similar to the way Honda Civics used to be expensive to insure for young lads a few years ago.
